Privacy Policy

Nougat is a personal knowledge tool that captures things you save, such as X bookmarks and browser tabs, and turns them into notes, resources, and tasks you can review and search. Nougat is invite-only and is operated by AI with AK - F.Z.E, a Free Zone Establishment registered in Ajman Free Zone, United Arab Emirates, under licence number 53926. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company. It explains what data Nougat collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at nougatbase.com and the Nougat apps.

Information we collect

• Account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. If you create an account with email and password instead, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. We never receive or store your Google password.
• Content you capture. The links, bookmarks, browser tabs, and any notes or annotations you save. If you connect your X (formerly Twitter) account, we sync the bookmarks you choose to import.
• Connected accounts. When you connect a service like X, we store the access tokens needed to sync on your behalf. You can disconnect at any time.
• Basic operational data. Standard server logs and request data needed to run, secure, and debug the service.

How we use your information

• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To store your captures and analyze them into notes, resources, and tasks, and to show them back to you when you review or search.
• To sync content from services you connect, such as your X bookmarks.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service.

We only use the basic Google profile information above to sign you in and identify your account. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

AI analysis of your content

A core feature of Nougat is analyzing what you capture. To do this, we send the content of your captures to third-party AI providers, which may include Anthropic, OpenAI, and Z.AI, so they can generate summaries, notes, and related structure on our behalf. We send only what is needed to perform the analysis you asked for.

We reach these providers through their developer APIs, where content is processed to return a result rather than used to build an advertising profile of you. Each provider's own API terms govern how it handles the data we send, and those terms are set by the provider rather than by us. If you would prefer that a piece of content was never sent to an AI provider, please do not save it to Nougat.

Service providers we rely on

We share data with a small set of providers only as needed to run Nougat:

• Google for optional sign-in.
• X (Twitter) for bookmark sync, if you connect it.
• Cloudflare for hosting and delivery.
• Neon for the managed database that stores your account and content.
• AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Z.AI) for content analysis, as described above.

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Cookies

Nougat uses cookies only to keep you signed in and to make the invite flow work. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts on the site.

Where your data is processed

Nougat runs on global infrastructure, so the providers listed above may process or store data in countries other than the one you live in. This includes the United States and, in the case of Z.AI, China. By using Nougat you understand that your content may be processed in those countries.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in a managed Postgres database. Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted in transit, and access is limited to the operator of the service. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep your account and content until you delete it or ask us to delete your account. When you disconnect a service like X, we stop syncing and remove the stored access tokens for that connection.

Your choices

• You can disconnect any connected service at any time.
• You can export your data or request a copy by contacting us.
• You can ask us to delete your account and associated content by contacting us at the address below.

Children

Nougat is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page.
